Frequently asked questions
Short answers about the data, the free plan and Pro.
What is CertusFX?
CertusFX is an exchange-rate app: a fast converter, market boards, government bond yields and AI trend outlooks — one app for iOS, Android and the web.
Is CertusFX free?
Yes — the converter, the majors boards, charts and personalization (like your base currency) are free. CertusFX Pro adds 160+ currencies, the yields dashboard, AI trends, unlimited watchlists, rate alerts and CSV export.
How much does CertusFX Pro cost?
Pro is a one-time pass: $4.99 for 30 days or $39.99 for 365 days. Purchases go through your Apple or Google account in the store builds; there is nothing to buy on the web today.
Where do the rates come from?
Spot rates come from public reference sources such as the European Central Bank feed, with a keyed provider as fallback. Yield data comes from official government sources. Cached or sample data is always badged in the app.
How fresh is the data, and what do SAMPLE and APPROX mean?
Every screen labels its data honestly. The age label ("updated 5h ago", "updated 2d ago") is the elapsed age of the data itself, measured from its own reference timestamp — these are reference rates, not live ticks. If a refresh fails, the label says so and the app shows the last rates stored on your device. SAMPLE marks bundled demonstration data — for example the yields dashboard before an API key is configured — and APPROX marks a nearest-equivalent fallback series. You are never shown sample data unlabeled.
Which platforms does CertusFX run on?
CertusFX runs on iOS, Android and the web from a single codebase, with the same features everywhere. The web app is live today; the iOS and Android store builds are on the way.
Can I set rate alerts?
Yes — Pro users can set alerts on any pair and get notified when a target rate is crossed.
Do I need an account?
No. The app works fully without signing in, and your preferences — base currency, language, watchlist — stay on your device. Optional accounts arrive later so watchlists and a Pro plan can sync across devices.
Is this financial advice?
No. Rates and outlooks are informational only and can be delayed or approximate. Always confirm with your payment or exchange provider before moving money.
Rates are reference values for information only, not dealing quotes.
